Medical Examiners and Facilities nationwide are responding to the recent outbreak of the Coronavirus. This COVID-19 respiratory illness was first detected in China before rapidly spreading to many countries including the U.S. Symptoms of the Coronavirus have been reported to show 2-14 days after being exposed to others who may already have the virus. Those symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

We have gathered the following health and precaution tips to help you stay healthy and prepare for larger disruption due to the Coronavirus.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose. Use hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a disposable tissue or napkin. If a tissue isn’t available, cough or sneeze
into your elbow, NOT YOUR HANDS.
  • Clean and disinfect ALL frequently touched surfaces by using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.

If you believe you have come in close contact or have traveled with someone who may have the disease, call your healthcare professional immediately. If you develop symptoms or recognize a loved one who has developed symptoms of COVID-19, please practice the recommended safety precautions to prevent the community spread of the disease.
